GET READY TO RELIVE & Revel In

Deep belly laughs, warm hugs, spontaneous kisses, and funky dance moves.

With documentary wedding photography, your story and vibes drive my approach, and keep me focused on on your genuine moments and emotions. Documentary photography also includes classic posed photos, so you have beautiful photos with and of the people who make up your story. The result? Lots of genuine photos of you and yours. Whether you decide to get married in the mountains, in Denver, or somewhere in between, a documentary approach creates grounded images reflecting how your day felt.

WHAT YOUR WEDDING Photography Experience Will Feel Like

WE CONNECT

We’ll start by getting to know each other. Once you reach out, we’ll find a time to talk through your wedding photography plans - virtually or in person in the Denver area. I’m excited to get to know you, hear about your wedding-day dreams, and learn how I can best help your wedding photos feel easy and true to you.

PREPARING FOR YOUR DAY

After you sign your contract, we’ll check in a few times to talk through your questionnaire, timeline, family photo list, and other photo logistics. I’ll also spend time planning for your wedding so you don’t have to make any photography decisions on your wedding day.

GETTING COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA

Wedding clients receive a complimentary Denver engagement session. During your engagement session you’ll snag some photos of you and your partner in a place that’s meaningful to you, and practice being in front of the camera. The engagement session also gives you an idea of what to expect on your day.

YOUR WEDDING DAY

On the day itself, I’ll oscillate between offering direction when helpful and blending into the background to capture candids. I’ll also focus on documenting your day as it unfolds: big moments, the in-between moments, the views and details, and the people who matter most to you.

RELIVING IT ALL

After your wedding, I’ll sort and hand-edit each photo in your gallery, keeping things natural and true to you. You’ll receive a preview within two weeks and your full gallery within 8–12 weeks, delivered in a user-friendly online gallery that’s easy to view, share, download, and print.

DENVER Wedding Photography Packages

Wedding photography pricing varies based on location, coverage length, and how much of the day you’d like documented.

If you’ve envisioned shorter wedding coverage, focused on the ceremony, portraits, and a portion of the reception, seven hours is often a comfortable starting point. If you’d like as much documentation of your day and people as possible, including getting ready, time with family and friends, and full coverage of the dance floor, all-day coverage is a great fit.

When we connect, we’ll talk through your wedding day plans, and I’ll help sketch out a rough timeline so you can see what coverage length makes the most sense for you.

KIND WORDS FOR Catherine Norwood Photo

  • A smiling bride and groom embracing outdoors, both dressed in traditional indian wedding attire, with the bride wearing intricate jewelry and henna on her arms in estes park for their colorado wedding photos

Said the partner who's a little camera shy You made the whole photography process really fun and easy

  • A smiling couple, dressed in wedding attire, looking at each other outdoors, with the woman wearing a veil and floral hairpiece in Salida colorado.

Hannah & Kyle We are so grateful for Catherine. We were initially drawn to her work because she captures moments in such an authentic style. The photos she delivered were natural, emotional, and reflective of who we are as people. She’s instantly at ease in any environment and calms those around her. We loved the way she chatted through pose options with humor and grace- she let us feel like we were in our own space and left us to experience the magic of the day.

  • A man and woman in wedding attire sitting inside a golf cart, sharing a toast with champagne glasses, seen through a glass window at sanctuary golf course a wedding venue in Denver colorado

Davis & Shelby I am shook. These are amazing. I just opened them and scrolled really quickly. We’re at another wedding now, ha! We must leave the reception early to go home and put these on the TV. I cannot believe them.

  • A black and white photo of a happily married couple at their wedding reception, surrounded by friends holding candles after an elopement in estes park colorado

Emi & Kyle OH MY GOSH THESE PICTURES ARE INCREDIBLE!!! you did such a fantastic job of capturing every moment, thank you so much.

DENVER WEDDING VENUE GUIDE

Finding the right wedding venue in Denver can feel like a lot. My guide breaks down a wide range of options, from historic spaces and restaurant venues to modern and industrial settings,  to help you narrow your search and find a place that fits your vision and values.

WHEN SHOULD I GET MARRIED IN DENVER & COLORADO?

Colorado provides the perfect backdrop for weddings year-round, and each season offers its own rhythm, light, and considerations. The season guide walks through timing, weather expectations, and how to choose a date that aligns with what matters most to you - from foliage to flexibility.

HOW TO FEEL COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA

If the idea of being photographed makes you nervous, you’re not alone. This post covers what most couples experience, how documentary photography helps ease that pressure, and simple ways to feel more at ease and like yourself in front of the camera.

FREQUENTLY ASKED Questions

What kind of wedding photography do you offer?

As a Denver wedding photographer, I specialize in inclusive, documentary-style wedding photography, a style rooted in capturing your story and vibes. Documentary wedding photography also includes posed portraits. During an average CNP wedding, Catherine will spend about two-thirds of the day capturing candids and moment-based photos, a quarter of the day capturing posed portraits (think friends, family, and you two!), and the rest of the time capturing details (invites, ceremony and reception space, outfits, etc). CNP is based in Denver, Colorado, but travels internationally and nationally for weddings.

How many wedding photos do you deliver?

You’ll receive about 75 -100 edited images per hour of coverage. Each gallery is curated to reflect your story.

What's your turnaround for my wedding gallery?

Couples receive wedding previews within 2 weeks and final photos within 2 to 3 months.

Do you travel?

Yes! I travel throughout Colorado, nationally, and internationally for weddings. All Colorado wedding packages include up to 3 hours of round-trip travel from Denver, Colorado. Travel beyond that is quoted based on distance and session length. I frequently photograph weddings in Boulder, Golden, Morrison, Evergreen, Breckenridge, and Rocky Mountain National Park, among other locations.

How do you support LGBTQIA+ couples and couples of color in your space?

As an LGBTQIA+ wedding photographer, I’m honored to document all couples, religions, and love stories. My process is inclusive and affirming. I consistently complete trainings and workshops each year to create a more welcoming and inclusive space, and use these tools to make the wedding world more affirming as well. See my guide here on queer friendly wedding venues in Denver.

Do you help with wedding day planning?

Regarding all things wedding photography, yes. I’ll suggest locations and put together a rough draft photo timeline at our first meeting. We’ll meet a few more times to cover logistics, but for full-scale planning, I recommend working with a wedding planner. Some of my favorites are LP Creatives (luxury), Rita Rose Creative Event Design (elevated), and Dancing Queens Denver (LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC-owned).

Do you offer elopements?

Yes! Elopement photography starts at $1250 for weekday elopements within 30 minutes of Denver and includes 90 minutes of photography. Elopements include around 5-10 guests. Elopements under 6 hours are unavailable on Saturdays and most Fridays and Sundays, May - October.

Do you offer albums or prints?

Yes. You can order albums and high-quality prints directly from your gallery. I’m happy to help design albums if you’d like something custom. Wedding albums start at $700 and family wedding albums start at $500. Receive $100 off/album when purchased upfront with your wedding photography.

What's your editing style?

My editing style is timeless, colorful, and true-to-color with a clean, natural finish. As a Denver documentary wedding photographer, I focus on candid storytelling and genuine emotion.

Booking & payments?

A nonrefundable retainer is required to secure your wedding date. The remaining balance is split into 2-3 payments before your wedding. Your contract will outline rescheduling and cancellation policies in full.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. I run a fully registered business with liability insurance. I’m happy to provide a COI for your venue or planner.

Colorado & all things safety

Because Colorado and Denver weddings take place at high elevation and are often outdoors, in the wilderness, and/or near wildlife and plants, clients are responsible for their own and their guests' safety and well-being. For weddings, I highly suggest event insurance and working with a Colorado wedding planner for peace of mind. I also follow Leave No Trace rules for all Denver and Colorado weddings because we all love preserving and caring for nature.

Can we meet up prior to our wedding?

Yes! I provide a complimentary Denver weekday engagement session to work together before your wedding day. In addition, I’d love to meet in person for coffee. If you’re not in Denver, we can still meet for virtual coffee and chats :)

Do you deliver RAW or unedited images?

While I do not deliver RAW photos,  I do deliver my photos with a timeless edit and as high-resolution JPEGS.

Can you retouch our wedding photos?

Standard edits are included. More detailed retouching (such as blemish or object removal) is available for $50/photo. I do not offer body modification edits and believe in affirming all bodies as they are. As a Denver documentary wedding photographer, I believe in capturing life as it unfolds, and as it is.

Will you post our wedding photos?

Yes, I will likely use your images in my wedding photography portfolio, on my blog, and on social media. I’m always happy to keep things untagged or private upon request.
