KIND WORDS FOR CATHERINE NORWOOD PHOTO

  • A smiling couple, dressed in wedding attire, looking at each other outdoors, with the woman wearing a veil and floral hairpiece in Salida colorado.

    Hannah & Kyle

We are so grateful for Catherine. We were initially drawn to her work because she captures moments in such an authentic style. The photos she delivered were natural, emotional, and reflective of who we are as people. She’s instantly at ease in any environment and calms those around her. We loved the way she chatted through pose options with humor and grace- she let us feel like we were in our own space and left us to experience the magic of the day.

  • A man and woman in wedding attire sitting inside a golf cart, sharing a toast with champagne glasses, seen through a glass window at sanctuary golf course a wedding venue in Denver colorado

    Davis & Shelby

I am shook. These are amazing. I just opened them and scrolled really quickly. We’re at another wedding now, ha! We must leave the reception early to go home and put these on the TV. I cannot believe them.

  • A smiling bride and groom embracing outdoors, both dressed in traditional indian wedding attire, with the bride wearing intricate jewelry and henna on her arms in estes park for their colorado wedding photos

    Denver Wedding Venue Guide

Finding the perfect Wedding Venue in Denver can feel completely overwhelming. Luckily, this blog can help you narrow down your search a little bit more. It includes everything from historic venues, restaurant venues, industrial modern venues, and much more.

  • a couple laughing in downtown denver during halloween outside of the brown palace wearing a pink suit and black wedding dress on their wedding day.

When should I get married in Denver & Colorado?

No matter when you get married in Colorado, stunning wedding photos are always possible, and inclement weather is always possible. The key is embracing the season's beauty, embracing whatever weather comes your way, choosing a date that reflects your foliage ideals.

How to Feel Comfortable In Front of the Camera

Feeling a bit anxious about being in front of the camera? You’re not alone. Almost all of my couples experience jitters when they think about posing for wedding photos. Whether it’s uncertainty about how to stand, where to look, or just the idea of being the center of attention, these feelings can sometimes overshadow the joy of your big day.

Denver Wedding Photographer FAQs

  • As a Denver wedding photographer, I specialize in inclusive, documentary-style wedding photography that celebrates all love stories with compassion, celebration, artistry, and realness. CNP is based in Denver, Colorado, but travels internationally and nationally for weddings.

  • You’ll receive about 75 -100 thoughtfully edited images per hour of coverage. Each gallery is curated to reflect your story.

  • The balance between candid and posed photos depends on the session duration and what you are looking for. Typically, couples choose to do about 75 minutes of posed pictures during a 6-8 hour wedding day. During the non-portrait times of your wedding day, it will be a 1:5 ratio for posed to non-posed photo ratios.

  • You can expect your carefully edited wedding photos within 90–120 days and your preview gallery in 2–3 weeks.

  • Do you travel?

Yes! As a  Denver Wedding Photographer, I also regularly travel throughout Colorado and beyond for weddings. All Colorado wedding packages include up to 3 hours of round-trip travel from Denver, Colorado. Travel beyond that is quoted based on distance and session length. I frequently photograph weddings in Boulder, Golden, Morrison, Evergreen, Breckenridge, Rocky Mountain National Park, and more.

  • As a LGBTQIA+ wedding photographer, I’m honored to document all couples, religions, and love stories (as long as the parties are loving and inclusive of others). My process is inclusive, affirming, and designed to meet you where you are with care and respect. I consistently complete trainings and workshops to create a more welcoming and inclusive space every year, and use these tools to make the wedding world more affirming as well. See my guide here on queer friendly wedding venues in Denver.

  • Yes! I’ll suggest Colorado and Denver portrait locations and put together a rough draft timeline at our first meeting. We’ll meet a few more times to cover logistics, but for full-scale planning I recommend working with a wedding planner. Some of my favorites are LP Creatives, Rita Rose Creative Event Design, and Dancing Queens Denver.

Wedding photography includes planning support, local engagement sessions, a second photographer, and planning check-ins. Colorado elopement photography includes planning support, photography insurance, check-ins, and a roll of film.

  • Yes. You can order albums and high-quality prints directly from your gallery. I’m happy to help design albums if you’d like something custom.

  • My editing style is timeless, colorful, and true-to-color with a clean, natural finish. As a Denver documentary wedding photographer, I focus on candid storytelling and genuine emotion.

  • A nonrefundable retainer is required to secure your wedding date. The rest of your balance is split into 2-3 payments prior to your wedding. Your contract will outline rescheduling and cancellation policies in full.

  • Yes. As a Denver wedding photographer, I run a fully registered business with liability insurance. I’m happy to provide a COI for your venue or planner.

  • Because Colorado and Denver weddings occur at a high elevation and are often outdoors, in the wilderness, and/or near wildlife and plants, clients are responsible for their own and their guests' safety and well-being. For weddings, I highly suggest event insurance and working with a Colorado wedding planner for peace of mind. I also follow Leave No Trace rules for all Denver and Colorado weddings because we all love preserving and taking care of our lands and nature.

  • Yes! I provide a complimentary Denver engagement session to work together before your wedding day. In addition, I’d love to meet in person for coffee. If you’re not in Denver, we can still meet for virtual coffee and chats :)

  • While I do not deliver RAW photos and they are not available, I do deliver my photos in a timeless manner, so they feel natural for years to come. Your wedding photo gallery will include fully edited, high-resolution JPEGs that reflect my professional and artistic standards.

  • Standard edits are included. More detailed retouching (like blemish or object removal) is available at $50/photo. I do not offer body modification edits and believe in affirming all bodies as they are. As a Denver documentary wedding photographer, I believe in capturing life as it unfolds, and as it is.

  • Yes, I will most likely use your images in my wedding photography portfolio, on my blog and on social media. I’m always happy to keep things untagged or private upon request.

  • I love designing albums so my couples can cherish their favorite day forever in a super tangible way.

    • Wedding albums start at $700

    • Family wedding albums start at $500.

Receive $100 off/album when purchased upfront with your wedding photography.
