LGBTQIA+ Friendly Denver Wedding Venues - A Guide

Planning a wedding in and around Denver means you have no shortage of beautiful spaces to celebrate. From historic landmarks to modern art museums, cozy mountain lodges to stylish downtown hotels, the city and surrounding area offer venues for every style and story.

For queer couples, choosing a wedding venue isn’t just about looks — it’s about feeling fully welcomed and celebrated. Luckily, Denver is home to many LGBTQIA+-friendly venues where you can expect inclusive practices and a supportive staff.

Vetting Queer Friendly Denver Wedding Venues

The venues I’ve listed as queer-friendly, I vetted in the following ways:

  • I found them on a queer wedding venue directory

  • They had representation on their website

  • I’ve worked there personally with a queer couple

  • I know the owners and have had a conversation with them, ensuring they welcome queer couples

  • The venue is an art gallery or museum

  • The venue is part of a corporate brand, i.e., hotels, that welcome LGBTQ+ globally

Keep in mind - management changes

Please know that venue management changes often, and I will work to keep this list as up to date as possible. Also, there are hundreds of venues in Colorado, and there are many more places that don’t advertise as wedding venues but might be the perfect space for you. Therefore, I’ve listed some ideas below on how to do some of your own vetting.

Museums, Art Galleries, and Hotels

If you want to ensure your Denver wedding venue is queer-friendly and welcoming of all cultures and races, booking a corporate hotel committed to inclusivity, such as the Hyatt, Hilton, or Marriott, is a great fail-safe. In addition, most art museums and galleries are also committed to inclusivity. Lastly, searching your venue name and words such as “queer,” “gay,” and “lesbian” will help you find out if they’ve had queer weddings at their venues previously. The same goes if you want to see if a venue will host your Denver Jewish, Hindu, or Islamic wedding.

LGBTQIA+ Venue Guides and Filters

Some websites, such as the Knot and Here Comes the Guide, offer filters to help you find more inclusive venues. Here Comes the Guide has a filter for LGBTQIA+ friendly venues, while The Knot has a “support diversity” filter, where you can narrow down your venues based on whether a venue is queer or BIPOC owned, amongst other diversity filters. Lastly, looking through directories such as LGBTQIDO, Dancing with Them, Equally Wed, and Men’s Vows will also help you along your diversity-friendly wedding vendor search.

Ask For Help

Also, this is a great time to request an ally friend to support you on your venue search. If you feel you don’t have the emotional capacity to vet your favorite venues, ask an ally to reach out to them on your behalf. This way, you don’t need to spend your emotional reserves on those who aren’t supportive.

When narrowing down your options, consider the overall feel you want for your day. Do you want sweeping mountain views? A downtown vibe with modern architecture? A garden setting that changes with the seasons? Each venue below offers something unique; you need to find the perfect place that matches your vision of your big day.

Here’s a list of Denver area LGBTQIA+ wedding venues, with quick details on location and starting rental cost so you can easily compare.
