Limelight Hotel Denver Wedding Guide

A Denver Wedding Photographer’s Honest Take

Limelight Hotel Denver balances a modern, polished city hotel feel with Colorado warmth.

If you want your wedding in downtown Denver and want a hotel venue that feels refined, warm, and welcoming, Limelight Hotel Denver is one of the strongest options near Union Station.

As a Denver wedding photographer, I recommend Limelight for couples who love the city, want a walkable location for guests, and want an elevated experience for themselves and their guests on their wedding day.

What Makes Limelight Hotel Denver Good for Weddings?

Limelight is a great fit if:

  • You want a hotel wedding in the heart of downtown Denver.

  • Guest convenience and elevated service matter to you

  • You love a modern atmosphere.

  • You don’t mind some flash photography for your reception and potentially ceremony photos (depending on your guest count, you may need to host your ceremony in a darker location)

Limelight won’t fit your ideal venue shortlist if

  • You want an outdoor ceremony space for an 85+ person guest list.

  • You’re trying to keep guest accommodations budget-friendly

If both The Crawford and Limelight fall on your shortlist, I personally lean toward Limelight. The Crawford sits directly inside Union Station’s main public flow, which can feel chaotic during peak hours. Limelight feels more intentional for weddings.

Why Couples Love Limelight

  • One-minute walk to Union Station, no street crossing for photos

  • Seamless valet arrival

  • Cozy fireplace lobby

  • Walkable to Tavernetta (one of Denver’s best restaurants, and my personal favorite)

  • Modern without feeling stiff or impersonal

**Venues with a “*” are my personal favorites!

Indoor / Outdoor

Primarily an indoor venue.
The balcony works for intimate weddings; it says up to 85 on their terrace for the ceremony, but I feel like if you don’t want a tight squeeze, think of 70 being the max you’d host on the terrace.

Best Photo Spots at Limelight + Union Station

You’ll have a great variety of photo locations at the Limelight.

My favorite spots:

  • The “Here There” wall at Union Station

  • The shaded walkway between Limelight and Union Station

  • Architectural backside of Union Station

  • Balcony portraits at golden hour

  • Indoor editorial flash portraits

Private Rooftop Portraits (Hidden Gem)

Limelight offers private rooftop access for portraits:

  • $275 per 30 minutes

  • Must schedule at least two weeks in advance

  • Hotel escort required

  • Weather dependent

The rooftop is not open to the public, which makes it an intimate and fun city-view location for first looks or sunset portraits.

I highly recommend budgeting for the private rooftop portraits, as a photo session up here also gives you a moment to get away from the crowds, take a few deep breaths, and soak in all the wedding-day feels while you look out at the Denver skyline.

Things to Know Before You Book

  • Catering is in-house only.

  • Food & beverage minimums apply.

  • Ceremony spaces vary widely in lighting; keep this in mind when touring the venue.

From a Denver Wedding Photographer’s Perspective

If you want:

  • Clean Union Station portraits

  • Moody editorial reception images

  • A smooth downtown guest experience

  • An accommodating and kind in-house staff and wedding team

Limelight is a strong contender.

And if you’re looking for a Denver wedding photographer who knows how to navigate darker ceremony spaces and busy Union Station environments, I’d love to connect.
